The importance of increasing intelligibility in spoken English has been a concern for several years.

However, in today's competitive job market, candidates are judged on their ability to communicate with confidence which entails reducing an interferring accent, correcting a speech defect and developing good communication skills, namely eye contact supported by positive body language as well as an awareness of cross-cultural communication.

We have specialised in English pronunciation and communicate with confidence skills for overseas and native speakers for many years. Our candidates have been successful in achieving their goals and ambitions and have become exceptional communicators.

We have recently launched our Learn English online and Speak Properly! for Children - An English Pronunication Course which focuses on the key skills needed to speak English clearly. Our Elocution training programmes are within most budgets at £25 per month. In addition, we offer free downloads and English pronunciation videos for those on a limited budget.
Very interesting Article, and I think I will have to check out the book. In my many years of experience, the best tutors are always ex-teacher - agreed they are different skills in some ways, but the ability to understand an individual's learning style and capability, and getting the most out them to really educate is something that usually only comes with time and experience.

Thanks

I've received a few bottles of wine as Christmas presents over the past few years... does this qualify me as a 'super tutor'?

I saw this article, Henry, and yes, it's not really helpful, especially if the average reader extrapolates from it that we are all earning hundreds of pounds per hour, being force-fed Roccoco chocolates, flown on private jets to tropical Middle Eastern retreats and having super times with princesses....whilst fitting in the odd moment of teaching....when the reality is often far more prosaic, eg a back street somewhere in Highbury, a kitchen table, a cup of Earl Grey and a custard cream if you're lucky.....and the challenges of teaching and motivating a child who has had a long day at school. Sigh.

Yes, it's a tantalizing link with FM! But I've since found out that there's no evidence Logue actually went to see him. (It could have happened, of course...)

That is very interesting about the King's Speech. I just saw the movie and as an Alexander Technique teacher wondered about that.
